A MUST GIFT for a mama to be

Six babies within about three weeks of each other this summer.  YES! You read that right SIX BABIES!!!!

Now, of course, I am not one of those. Thankfully. It's just not something I am ready to venture into again. However, if the Lord decided it was time again, then there is no arguing with him. So far, so good on that though.

With-in the whole Sloan family, we have three babies due very close to each other. Now throw in my best friend who is pregnant with TRIPLETS! Now you have SIX babies! So, of course buying six baby gifts, helping with two showers so far, that can get expensive.

Holly (sister #2) is due during that time, and they have decided to let the gender be a surprise. Of course, I just love that, since we did it with Dawson as well.

One thing I notice at every baby shower I attend, we forget about moms and dads. Obviously, we want to make sure baby has clothes, blankets, bottles, diapers, wipes, and the list goes on. But what about the parents?

I know when I was pregnant almost eight years ago. Wow, I really can't believe I have an almost eight-year-old. Anywho, I never really had a bag packed to go. For one, I didn't have enough clothes to just pack up and not need them. HA! I hate shopping for clothes, especially for myself. Ask Holly and Emily. They once bought me a gift card to Maurice's, so I could buy for myself, clothing, of course, was insisted. The scarf and earrings I bought were nice though! So as I said, packing a bag for the hospital. I certainly, wasn't packing the toiletries I use at home. So then came a thought.

When I purchase gifts for a baby shower, I most always buy travel size toiletries and snacks. It turns out perfect for them! I make sure to store it in a container that has a handle. So all they have to do is grab and go.

Each box usually contains different things for different people.

The "travel box" usually contains:

  • shampoo
  • conditioner
  • lotion
  • body wash
  • face wipes
  • powder
  • deodorant
  • Lysol
  • Clorox wipes
  • Febreze
  • tissues
  • q-tips
  • loofa's
  • toothpaste/toothbrushes
  • razors
  • ponytail holders
  • energy nuts
  • granola bars
  • coffee mixes
This is from the past baby shower I attended.

The snacks I purchase usually depends on how far in advance I attend the baby shower. So keep that in mind. Plus hopefully, the happy parents can get some fresh fruit to snack on at the hospital as well.

This travel box is a PERFECT gift and something DIFFERENT for each parent. So far it has been a success for first-time parents.

What are some items you would add to that list?
