DIY Beauty

If you're wondering what I use as far as beauty products go since I don't buy everything off the shelf at the store, it's pretty simple. I do wear makeup, but as I mentioned before, it is not the cheapest brand out there, and often I check the rating of the product or the ingredients by the Environmental Working Group Skin Deep page.
There are countless blogs and resources on the internet today about natural living and DIY recipes for almost anything. I have talked about before, and it has become one of my go-to blogs for recipes and DIY recipes. I am currently using a few of her DIY recipes in my beauty routine which my skin seems to respond well to.
The first is eye makeup remover. Two ingredients - witch hazel and olive oil. How easy is that? I store it in a small glass jar and use only a little dab on a cotton ball, and it takes my eye makeup right off.

I love Live Simply's recipe HERE

The next thing is face wash. I have yet to purchase a 'regimen' that I have liked and continued to use. For now, these few things that I can make at home are working just fine. If you have never used honey, yes raw honey, on your skin, you're missing out. Raw honey is naturally antibacterial as well as antifungal. It is great to make a mask with or to make your facewash, as I have done. Castile soap is another ingredient in the face wash. This soap has so many uses! It's all I use along with some distilled water and essential oils to refill our foaming hand soap dispensers! Talk about simple!!

This face wash that Live Simply makes is fantastic. Check it out HERE

The last thing that I make and use on my face is toner. I use this after washing my face and before using a moisturizer. I feel like this gets every last bit of dirt or grime that may be left on my face.  Again, here I use witch hazel, ACV (apple cider vinegar), distilled water and some drops of lavender essential oil to tone down the acv. I use just a small amount on a cotton ball and wipe my entire face with it. Apple cider vinegar has many awesome benefits as well. I'm not quite sure where I found my toner recipe, but there are different ways you can make it.

A company that you may or may not have heard of, Beautycounter, is a company that is on a mission to get safer beauty products into the hands of everyone. I love what this company is doing, and they have some amazing products. I have used different products they make, but the tint skin is the only thing I currently use on a daily basis.

Many of your home and personal care products can be made easily and often, and the ingredients will last you a good while. I hope to successfully make a dishwashing detergent recipe that gets the job done!!

Is there anything that you make yourself? What products do you use on a daily basis?
