Can you believe this is in Alabama?! I know right, super gorgeous!
Here is the deal, we just plain suck at blogging. If you follow many other bloggers like we do, you will notice they post way more than we do. They have this blogging down pat.
Half the time Holly and I are texting each other and saying, "I got nothing." When in reality I feel like we just think way too hard. Which always makes me think of Pitch Perfect 2 and the football players are about to sing the country song, and they say, "I got nothing!". They say other choice words that I am not comfortable saying on here. I guess you just need to watch it see what I mean. Anyways, it's funny, and I laugh.
So this past weekend we were at the farm. It belongs to our dad and has cows on it, and he crops it and its just a great place to go and hang out, ride four wheelers, hike, fish and just relax. This weekend we decided to celebrate Emily's birthday as well as see the tree farming updates made to the farm. The boys had a blast playing in the dirt.
Dad has been particularly excited about finding a part of the land that the soil had been untouched too and mainly was the reason he wanted us all up there.
The land is in rotation of being "Tree Farmed." While I am sure there is another term for that, that is what we call it. Basically, they come in and cut down the trees correctly, clean up properly and then replant. They also do controlled fires to keep the soil rejuvenated if you will.
The property is gorgeous up at the farm. Our dad has done a ton of work to it and has put his heart and soul into making it something worthwhile and to a sustainable future for us all.
Be on the lookout for our food menu we had and the recipes to go along with it!
