Well, where do I begin? It seems a lot has taken place since my last post, maybe not, but it feels that way. Christmas has come and gone once again. It happens so fast, doesn't it? Before you know it, we will be in a new year and will continue to write 2016 on our checks..or wherever you may write the year.
We had a wonderful Christmas, and I hope you all did as well. I didn't mind that I was able to wear flats and not have to dress in layers since it was about 73 degrees here. Bring on Spring!!
My family was fortunate to be able to go on a weekend trip to New Orleans as part of our Christmas. We had a lot of fun, ate a lot of good fun and got our steps in for sure! Our son did great (for the most part) in the car and New Orleans he was happy to be out in the sunshine, bundled in the stroller. I was expecting milder temps there, but it was COLD!
I had been trying to fight off a cold (they seem to linger forever when you're pregnant) during the trip. I started on some Mucinex, felt it working and thought I was in the clear. The day after we come home, I return to work still snotty and coughing, and by midday, I was not feeling well at all. For fear of this getting worse right before Christmas, I go on to the doctor to see whats up and get some relief. Wouldn't you know it, I have the FLU…. Ugh!!! The flu cannot be happening; I'm pregnant!!! What an awful time to catch the flu, and I'm pretty sure I have never had it before in my life. The world is not going to end. By the evening my Tamiflu had kicked in, and I didn't feel near as bad. Fast forward a week later, I'm feeling much better and back to normal. (Since I know you all are wondering how I survived)
So now, it's that time again time to meal plan and buy groceries. Adulting is not fun. I feel like I've made progress since starting to meal plan. I've learned groceries actually will go further than you think. I don't HAVE to cook every night, and I totally don't. It is hard to come up with good healthy meals that a toddler will eat also. Although there are days, it's hard to get them to eat real food. What would we do without the internet?!
So tomorrow I will go to the store, bake some muffins and waffles. I would like to make some breakfast sandwiches, all for the week ahead and to go in the freezer for future meals. I'm exhausted already….
I hope you all enjoy your new years weekend!!!
