First of all, can we just say that drivers in the BIG state of Georgia are crazy? They weave in and out of traffic, get on your tail and if your not running 90MPH you are going to get hit.
Thankfully, that did not happen to us when we were on our way back from a week of vacation.
So we just got back from Walt Disney World! This is our second time as a family. We went a couple of years ago during Halloween time and loved it. I have always wanted to go and see WDW during the Christmas holidays, to see the lights and all of the decorations. So we did and stayed for about a week. The drive was long, but driving through Atlanta area during the night was perfect because coming back it was horrendous during the day.
Our first day there we went to Disney's Hollywood Studios. We ate at Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano; it was delicious. That also got us in a particular seating area for Fantasmic! If you have never seen that show while at WDW, I HIGHLY recommend it. It was a fantastic, light and sound show.
I started to take my nice camera for the Fantasmic! Show, and now I wish I had. As you can see, Mickey is not so fresh and clean. However, I did not want to tote it around.
We spent the next two days at Disney's Magic Kingdom and of course it was the MOST packed park of all. Rightly so, it is the main one and has the most to do as well. The boys, of course, hit up Splash Mountain, I just waited and found a beautiful old lady to talk with. I didn't want to get wet. We had fast passes for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, which was fantastic! We didn't get to do that last time; the kid was too short. We also had a fast pass for the Thunder Mountain Railroad, which was even better than the Mine Train.
We had reservations to eat with Tigger, Pooh, and Piglet as well that day!
The place we ate at was the Crystal Palace. The Disney Dining plan is a great thing to have. I know some would disagree, but we had WAY MORE than we needed, and the food was fantastic. I never felt cheated in any way. Several places we ate were buffets too. I for one think buffets are gross, who knows how long that food has been sitting out in the open under the light. However, I was impressed with the Disney; I consistently saw them changing out foods, and they had PLENTY of healthy options as well. It was refreshing just to have a salad and some fruit some days.
After all of that fun during the day and random stops throughout the park for various rides and shows we were exhausted. As you can see the husband decided to get a treat, the turkey leg. It tasted like a crockpot ham to me, delicious, huge and VERY salty. We all 3 ate it.
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party was that night as well. See we had been EVERYWHERE! We, of course, had pre-bought tickets for that particular event, and I am glad we did. The parade was fantastic, and we got to see so many characters during this event. That is for another post, though. I have so many pictures to share from that evening!
Happy Disney Dreaming and until next time, you don't have to be a Disney fanatic to have fun!
